Caption
Niger is one of the hungriest places on earth. Due to rising conflict and a deteriorating security situation, thousands are displaced in the region. Catastrophic levels of hunger mean 1.7 million are facing food insecurity right now according to the World Food Programme.
A Plan International programme in Niger is supporting women with cookery lessons in a region where 45% of children aged between six months and four years old are malnourished. The programme teaches mothers how to prepare nutritious food for their babies. Our programmes reach girls and their families with food, cash and practical solutions such as agricultural training and cookery lessons.
