The world is in the midst of a devastating food crisis. Across the globe, in countries such as Mali, Bangladesh and South Sudan, conflict, climate shocks and COVID-19 are contributing to a dramatic escalation in food insecurity. And as the current devastating crisis in Ukraine escalates, one of its aftershocks has been a rapid increase in food prices and fuel costs which can only worsen the global hunger situation.
The Hungriest Places on Earth is a creative comms project showcasing individual girls’ voices from corners of the world directly affected by the hunger crisis. By taking stories from each country affected by hunger, we present a globalised view of the hunger crisis across all regions of the world, as well as showing how Plan International is responding.
